The Stagecrafters 2016-2017 season is here!
AND THEN THERE WERE NONE by Agatha Christie. Performances are March 4, 10 & 11 at 8:00 p.m. and March 5 & 12 at 3:00 p.m. 2017.
In this superlative mystery comedy, statuettes of little soldier boys on the mantle of a house on an island off the coast of Devon fall to the floor and break one by one as those in the house succumb to a diabolical avenger. A nursery rhyme tells how each of the ten “soldiers” met his death until there were none. Eight guests who have never met each other, or their apparently absent host and hostess, are lured to the island and, along with two house servants, are marooned. A mysterious voice accuses each of having gotten away with murder and then one drops dead – poisoned. One down and nine to go! Presented through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.)
ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller closes out the season. Performances are May 7, 13 & 14 at 8:00 p.m. and May 8 & 15 at 3:00 p.m. 2017.
During the war Joe Keller and Steve Deever ran a machine shop, which made airplane parts. Deever was sent to prison because the factory turned out defective parts, causing the deaths of many men. Keller went free and made a lot of money. The twin shadows of this catastrophe and the fact that the young Keller son was reported missing during the war dominate the action. The love affair of Chris Keller and Ann Deever, the bitterness of George Deever returned from the war to find his father in prison and his father’s partner free, are all set in a structure of almost unbearable power. A tremendously impressive drama that received the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play. (Presented through special arrangement with Dramatist’s Play Service, Inc.) Please note: this show contains adult language.
